CPP joins a growing list of China-based pipeline contractors that have purchased Dressta pipelayers. The SB-60 pipelayer has a 51.5 tonne operating weight and a 72 tonne maximum lift capacity.
This latest delivery adds to an already impressive fleet of Dressta pipelayers CPP has purchased that includes an existing forty SB-60 pipelayers; six SB-30 pipelayers with an operating weight of 28.88 tonnes and a lift capacity of 33.35 tonnes; and, twenty-four SB-85 pipelayers, the king of the pipelayers, weighing in at 61 tonnes with a lift capacity of 100 tonnes.
Recently the SB-85 units have returned to China after successfully completing the first project undertaken by CPP outside their home country, the 2,000 km, 1,220 mm diameter east-west pipeline in India’s northern and western provinces. The first nine will concentrate on China National Petroleum’s 7,000 km second West East Pipeline, lowering in 1,220 mm diameter pipe from the Xinjiang Autonomous province in the west to Zhengzhou in the east, then to Guangzhou in the south.
The balance of the order has been split between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the Middle Asian pipeline. The project length is 3,000 km, lowering in 1,067 mm diameter pipe.
Management for CPP said that repeat orders for Dressta products result from the initial order of the units’ availability on projects, quality of product, ability of the manufacturer to adapt to their requirements and strong product support, no matter the location.
Praise was given for the technical design and compact operating area of the Dressta pipelayer models in relation to lifting capacities. Especially praised was the vertically hinged counter weights for working in closed quarters.
