Each year, Bechtel – one of the world's largest engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, with annual revenues exceeding $32 billion – works with an estimated 13,000 vendors on its projects globally.

Hydratight was recently amongst 47 of Bechtel's critical vendors that were honoured for this performance during 2011. This puts Hydratight in the top one per cent of suppliers to the global EPC giant.

Bechtel measured each business according to the following criteria:

Hydratight Commercial Leader – Australia Neil Ferguson said that the award was an outstanding endorsement of the broad range of Hydratight services available, both in Australia and globally.

“Bechtel employs our entire suite of services across its operations, including the latest in-place heat treatment services introduced to Australia,” Mr Ferguson said.

According to Mr Ferguson, this enhances the strength, safety and durability of welded structures essential to industries including oil and gas, mining and energy, metals fabrication, and infrastructure construction.

The services – developed in partnership with global leaders in these industries – combine the most advanced portable heat treatment equipment and highly skilled field technicians to deliver accurate and affordable on-site resistance heat treatment and induction heat treatment services.

Hydratight Business Development Manager Steve Earney said it was an honour to accept the award on behalf of the Hydratight employees. “This award is a reflection of all our employees’ hard work to support Bechtel on their critical projects and working safely,” he said.
