The first project in the Goldfields Gas Transmission Augmentation Program is designed to augment pipeline capacity for a new gas supply contract with Rio Tinto for the new West Angeles mine. The project involves the addition of new compression facilities at two existing sites on the Goldfields Gas Transmission (GGT), the first of which is located at Yaraloola and the second at Paraburdoo.
A further expansion project is also progressing to support a 15-year gas transportation agreement supporting supply for a gas-fired power generation at Newman. The expansion includes a new compressor station at Turee Creek.
Momentum’s work on these new projects coincides with the construction and commissioning of the Dalby and Euroa compression projects in Queensland and Victoria. The engineering for these sites was completed by Momentum in 2011.
