So true of Adrian van der Horst, a senior pipeline engineer who was placed by Bayside Personnel on two gas transmission pipeline projects in Brisbane. After graduating with a degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mr van der Horst began his career as a Graduate Applications Engineer where he consolidated his knowledge around instrumentation and control valve design. He has since moved on to develop niche skills around facets of pipeline and mechanical engineering, specifically pipe stress analysis, and is now involved in safety management studies and pipeline design. “Since first meeting Adrian, he has continued to extend his learning and skill base when engaged on various projects, making him more attractive to companies seeking professionals for major ventures,” comments Mr Blanche.

“My last few contracts have concentrated on pipeline developments and Bayside has really worked with me to get on board some exciting projects,” says Mr van der Horst.

“Developing and expanding my skills, particularly over the last seven years, and consolidating my experience in the oil and gas pipeline industry while working on large gas pipeline projects, have now led to a senior role.”
