In Australia the EPC delivery of the Nifty Lateral to the Nifty copper mine in the Great Sandy Desert of WA is finally underway. This project consists of a 45 km x 150 NB lateral off the Telfer pipeline. Nifty is approximately 100 km west of the Telfer mine. This project continues the relationship between GasNet and McConnell Dowell on project financed pipeline infrastructure. McConnell Dowell’s pipeline crew are of course revisiting the very desert that flooded in 2004 after Cyclone Fay and are looking forward to a dry run on Nifty.

In Victoria McConnell Dowell have completed Phase I of the work for Allseas, inserting the 20 and 4 inch pipelines into the HDD casings onshore for the Woodside Otway Project.
