Since setting up its business in Australia in 1997, Boddingtons has developed a reputation for providing excellent quality products and prompt and reliable delivery to its customers. Boddingtons Australia has achieved ISO9001: 2000 quality accreditation and distributes its products throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Boddingtons has a parent company located in the UK but has its own manufacturing and distribution facilities located in Melbourne.

Late last year Boddingtons successfully installed and commissioned a new $A4 million heavy duty mesh extrusion line at their UK manufacturing facility. This line is now manufacturing a range of heavy duty and high strength PE plastic meshes for a wide range of applications including underground protection of cable and pipe protection meshes. Boddingtons is currently commissioning independent product testing to strength and impact test data on these products with the aim of releasing the new range in Australia later this year.

Protectamesh™ is a heavy duty extruded mesh which is buried above the underground pipeline or cable to provide added protection and is manufactured in highly visible colours such as yellow and orange. The new manufacturing equipment that Boddingtons now operates will give it the ability to supply a high strength and impact resistant mesh which will be a cheaper alternative to the traditional plastic and concrete covers.

Boddingtons also manufactures and distributes Wavelay® detectable warning tape and Detectamesh® detectable warning mesh for all underground and pipeline applications. These products are manufactured from rot resistant virgin polyethylene and polypropylene plastics.

The detectable tapes and meshes have a 0.7 mm diameter stainless steel tracer wire embedded within the plastic product to ensure long life, strength and optimum detectability. Rockshield™ is wrapped around underground pipes as protection of the coating systems on the pipe when they are buried underground. The product is distributed by Petro Coating Systems which holds stock of the product in 1.5 m x 30 m rolls in 950 g/m2 weight. Other roll sizes and mesh weights are available on request.
