The HL 5000 is able to find leaks quickly, easily and reliably with the use of modern digital signal processing technology (DSP) and a 16-bit audio codec. This technology enables locators to clearly recognise the leak sound, even when outside noise is present.
These sounds are not only just perceived audibly, but are graphically displayed using dual segment analysis (DSA) technology. For the user, this means increased reliability when locating water losses which has become a growing concern in Australia.
With the addition of the integrated sound logger, locators are able to pinpoint the leak with certainty by utilising the logger’s long-term measurement function. Long-term measurement records sound for up to 30 minutes using a new and improved microphone, allowing users the ability to avoid expensive, pointless digs.
The HL 5000 also includes a special line location mode to better locate plastic pipelines acoustically. With this function, the HL 5000 reacts to impulse noises produced by the impulse generator, RSP 3. The results are displayed graphically, making it easier to determine the location of the pipeline.

Other enhanced locating capabilities available on the HL 5000 include, frequency analysis from 0 - 4,000 Hz and a histogram measurement function that allows up to nine measurement values to be saved and displayed as a DSA sequence. The model is available in two versions, HL 5000 Standard and Pro.
With the addition of the HL 5000, Savcor Products (in conjunction with Metrotech) continues its commitment to the water and wastewater industry by growing its family of leak locating equipment, which include leak locators, correlators and data loggers.
