New South Wales Minister for Water Phil Costa has announced that the State Government will provide more than $A18 million in funding for a water supply pipeline from the Macquarie River to Orange.
The project would include an approximately 42 km pipeline from the Macquarie River to the Orange water treatment plant.

The Federal Labor Party has also made a election promise to provide $A20 million towards funding the $A47 million pipeline. The Orange City Council will contribute $A9 million towards the project.
