The vacuum lift carrying box enables a vacuum lift to be attached to the counterweight of an excavator, providing two benefits to Pipeline Plant Hire clients.
The box allows smaller machines to be used. This is because the weight of the vacuum lift is transferred from the front of the excavator to the rear, enabling the machine to lift heavier pipe. A smaller machine leads to a smaller environmental footprint for the pipeline project.
The lifting beam that replaces the vacuum lift on the front of the excavator allows the shoe to be folded up like a standard bucket, so the machine can be floated with the vacuum lift and the shoe intact as one unit. This saves money on trucks and mechanics not having to derig the vacuum lift from the machine every time it needs to be floated.
Pipeline Plant Hire now has machines working around the country set up with this carrying box. Two units are currently in Western Australia on the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline Stage 5B Expansion. In addition, the company has three units working on the Toowoomba Water Pipeline in Queensland, one unit working with AJ Lucas on Origin Energy’s Mortlake Pipeline and three units at the Sugarloaf Water Pipeline project, both in Victoria.
