Reinforced thermoplastic pipeline installation an Australian first

Lean Field Developments has been awarded Australia’s first major composite-reinforced thermoplastic pipe supply and installation contract for a 171 km oil pipeline that starts near Moomba, South Australia, and extends to southwest Queensland.
The pipeline, to be constructed of Flexpipe spooled composite-reinforced thermoplastic pipe, will replace road freight in transporting oil between facilities for processing.

The project scope involves using the SpiderPlow to simultaneously lay Flexpipe and fibre optic cable along with a detectable marker tape through close to 180 desert sand dunes and under the Cooper Creek.
