In his new role with UEA, Mr Wilson will further develop the trenchless division’s current tunnelling techniques, guided boring, pipe ramming, and pipejacking, as well as expanding into microtunnelling.

Mr Wilson has spent the last five years delivering major tunnelling works for companies including WDS, McCormack Civil and Tunnelling, and John Holland. He has recently completed more than 2 km of 1,200 and 1,500 mm diameter tunnels at Woogaroo Ipswich, with the longest of these drives more than 540 m.

UEA Trenchless Division General Manager Steve Hopkins said “UEA is very much looking forward to working with Rick as he brings a great amount of experience with him with respect to tunnelling and the associated civil works that form part of major tunnelling contracts.”

UEA will be basing its tunnelling operations out of Queensland but will be offering its tunnelling services on a national scale.
