Attendees started to arrive at noon and enjoyed pre-lunch drinks before being seated for lunch. Everyone was welcomed by the new WA Chapter chair, Jodi Hayes, who thanked Andy Pym, the outgoing chair, for his work. Andy has relocated back to Melbourne and still remains an active WA committee member.

All of the golf and lunch sponsors were thanked for their support, with Warren King having a few words as the sole sponsor of the lunch. Warren thanked the industry and APIA for their support as he informed the attendees that he and his wife Maura had sold their business to Ian Olsen, although they will remain with the business for a period of time to assist Ian.

An excellent meal was served as everyone networked at the first APIA event for WA this year, the 40th year of APIA. Ken Maxfield, TDW, then gave an entertaining and informative presentation on the history of intelligent pigging.

The golfers assembled after lunch and received their instructions, with a small golf lesson first, and some practicing…although some just practiced at the bar before they teed off! There were twelve groups who teed off for nine holes on the beautiful Burswood golf course throughout the afternoon. It was a warm afternoon and plenty of sunscreen and liquids were the order of the day! By late evening (around 7 pm) the last groups had arrived back at the 19th hole to join those already at the bar. By all accounts, it was a great afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
